Pyros was silent for a time, her attempts at making conversation failing miserably. She returned to her muffin, staring at the small black specks of poppy seed as she tried to keep herself from thinking to hard about their situation. She could see Pyros looking at her from the corner of her eye and she turned her head to look at him, placing the half eaten muffin back on the tray. She listened to him speak, apologizing for hurting her, having not thought about the effects his injury might have on her, and not knowing she had cared as much as she seemed to. She shook her head as he stopped.
"Please don't blame yourself. It isn't your fault." she said quietly, distressed. She knew guys that beat themselves up over mistakes, however miniscule, and hoped that Pyros wasn't like that. Talk about human faults. I care much too much for my own good. she thought sighing. When I fall, I really fall hard. She bit her lip, her eyes travelling across his face. "I know this is the last thing you meant to happen. I'm okay. As long as I can see that you're alright, there shouldn't be any more problems." her voice was still quiet, and she knew she was revealing just how deeply she'd dug herself in. Self-less to a fault, she cared much more for others than for herself, and sometimes it didn't turn out well for her. Knowing she should eat, she picked up the muffin again and began picking it apart once more. She didn't have much of an appetite, but it was necessary that she keep her strength up to fight the shock's return. Hopefully it wouldn't come back, and she could concentrate on keeping Pyros' mind busy, to keep him from getting bored. She even thought about leaving to sneak in some real food for him and her.
